About us
The Baarbierians started out as a group of guys (young to old, multiple nationalities, largely ex-pats) attempting to play a mediocre game of football every Friday evening, followed by dinner and beers at the Baar Brauerei Restaurant. We still keep that tradition alive, but – as with any club – there comes a time where a member becomes a bit long in the tooth and needs to move on to other activities. As a result, we’ve spun up a few groups for sports that are less strenuous on the joints. The old guard still shows up at the Brauerei and if you’re after tips on pension funds or optimal pill combinations, please find a seat at their end of the table. You should be able to detect them by their looks, but if your glasses are foggy... just follow the smell.
We always welcome new members, so if you are interested in joining us, just fill in the contact form at the bottom of the page.
It's More than Sport

Fun
Whether it's gathering at the Restaurant Braueri after the Friday match or meeting up for a local event, the team likes to have a good time.

Charity
Every year the football team gathers for a friendly match against itself to raise money for a charity, followed by the annual dinner with all club members (including significant others) to celebrate the end of the season. The food, beer/wine, and company are exceptional; the rest of it (music, dancing, and awards ceremony) is mediocre at best.

Tour
With over 15 years of experience planning tours to different countries, these events are at risk of becoming better than mediocre. Team members and alumni gather every year for a long weekend of football matches, local events and local beer. It is a highlight of the year.
